Morris Elite USL W League Concludes Memorable 2026 Season with Strong Performances and National Recognition
MADISON, N.J. – The Morris Elite USL W League team wrapped up an exciting 2026 season filled with
memorable performances, national recognition, and continued player development.
Stephanie Savino led the team through the beginning of the campaign, helping lay the foundation for the
club's impressive early success. Coach Scott Maloney took over as interim head coach, continuing to
build on that momentum while guiding the team to an impressive 6-3 victory over Long Island Rough
Riders, setting the tone for one of the strongest starts in the club. Together, both coaches played an
important role in the team's growth and development throughout the season.
The team remained unbeaten through its first five matches, showcasing their powerful defense and
resilience on the field. Following their outstanding start, Morris Elite climbed to No. 2 in the USL W
League Power Rankings for Week 4, earning national recognition as one of the league's top-performing
clubs.
The unbeaten streak came to an end in a hard-fought 3–1 road loss to Long Island Rough Riders on the
road. Despite the result, Morris Elite continued to compete with determination throughout the remainder of
the season, highlighted by strong results vs Cedar Stars and Paisley Athletic. With playoff implications on
the line vs NJ Copa, the team finished with a competitive but tough loss of 3-2 against FC Copa in the
club's final home match. For the 5th straight season, Morris Elite USL W finished as one of the top
contenders in the Metropolitan division, finishing with a 7-2-1 (W-L-T) record, highlighting the 5th straight
winning season in program history.
The season also featured significant individual accomplishments. Riley Cross earned a call-up to the
United States U-19 Women's National Team following an outstanding campaign with Morris Elite, while
Amari Manning received a call-up to the United States U-17 Women's National Team, recognizing her
continued growth and impact on the field.
Throughout the summer, Morris Elite competed with passion while continuing to provide a high-level
environment for player development. The team's success reflected the dedication of its players, coaching
staff, and organization, while further strengthening the club's reputation as one of the premier programs in
the USL W League.
As the 2026 season comes to a close, Morris Elite extends its sincere gratitude to its players, coaches,
supporters, volunteers, and sponsors whose unwavering commitment helped make this year's campaign
a success. The club looks forward to building on this momentum and returning even stronger in 2027.
